Young aspiring musicians like Tight Rhymes (A.K.A Damien Joe van Dijk), are making their voices known by tackling subjects that are currently gripping the public eye, including poverty and war.
“Poor Who Die” is a poignant debut single from rising star and rapper Tight Rhymes and will be widely released on Nov. 12, 2019. With its haunting theme, the song will linger in the listener’s ear long after it has ended.
“Poor Who Die” was influenced by a quote from French philosopher and writer, Jean-Paul Sartre, who said, “When the rich wage war, the poor will die.” With his artful presentation, Tight Rhymes encourages the listener to think about the ongoing subject of war and who it really affects.
Born Oct. 25, 1999, in the Netherlands, Tight Rhymes is a thoughtful, spoken-word master, who has been influenced by a large variety of musical genres. His writing style focuses on old school hip hop lyrical raps that the listener will find truly relatable and deep.
Tight Rhymes found writing music was the perfect way to release his anger and frustration with human ignorance and all its flaws. His upcoming debut album titled “Beauty Inside,” will see more singles released later in November and December, as well as early 2020.
Tight Rhymes has a message to share that listeners need to hear.
